By combining engineering expertise and practical experience with environmental and social considerations, we identify critical issues in design and management to ensure that your mine can be closed within the site-specific context and in accordance with good international practice.

We develop detailed closure engineering designs by assessing closure objectives and potential post-closure risks and impacts, identifying possible reclamation and closure solutions, selecting the most appropriate alternatives, and determining the data required to evaluate these alternatives. Then, we scope and initiate investigations, reviews, and studies to fill critical data gaps.

The results of engineering studies, testing, and monitoring inform our closure design through the procurement and construction phases. Our knowledge extends to assisting with tendering and range from construction QA/QC to delivery of complete design-build packages.

In some cases, there is a need for long-term management and maintenance at a site after closure. When this occurs, we work to optimize the design in order to minimize the cost and effort needed to implement long-term management.
